Seeing They Do Not See, and Hearing They Do Not Hear (Matthew 13:14-16)
Terry Starling, June 3, 2018
Part of the Faith category, preached at a Sunday Evening service
Terry begins by a reading from Isaiah 6. The Jews had been looking for salvation in an earthly king or messiah and ended up rejecting the very thing they had been looking for. They had forgotten what their first duty was and relied upon their place as the chosen people through whom salvation was to come, their place as children of Abraham. Even though they didn’t hear and understand, the real reason for the lack of their understanding was their hearts. How about our hearts?
