Ben says he’s going to talk to us about “hamstringing our credit cards”. He begins by going to Joshua and God’s command to the Israelites to hamstring the opponents horses and burn the chariots. Normally, an army would want to collect the spoils of war by taking the horses and chariots (the Israelites used none). He then goes to several other passages which teach how God wanted His people to rely on Him and not claim victory for themselves.
